What is Whole-Life Wellness?
The term “whole-life wellness” is the idea that we should not only take care of our physical health, but our mental and emotional well-being as well. The goal of whole-life wellness is to help people find balance in their lives by achieving a sense of wellbeing and purpose.
Many of us feel like we are in a constant state of busy-ness, and our lives have become unmanageable. And yet, when we take the time to reflect on what is happening in our lives, what do we find? We are doing a lot! We are working hard every day. But for some reason it does not seem enough.
It can be hard to find a balance in life, especially if you are always on the go. If you are feeling stressed, it might not be time for more productivity and work – it is time to take care of yourself! Whole-life wellness means that your body is healthy as well as your mental state.
AP Life and Wellness helps lifelong learners to explore what it means to live with whole-life wellness and how you can get there too. We will go over the different aspects of living a balanced life, including finding meaning in your work, setting boundaries for yourself, practicing self-care (including sleep), connecting with others on an authentic level, being mindful about your thoughts and feelings, cultivating gratitude for what you have vs. focusing on what you do not.
